The beginning of this now-thriving beachside community dates back to the late 1800s when it served as an agricultural hub for growing vegetables and pineapples. The Town of Boca Raton was incorporated in May 1925 and, over the past nearly 100 years, has become a leader in tourism, manufacturing, and high technology industries. 
 
From beachfront condos to single-family homes, Boca Raton offers various housing types. It’s become a particularly popular place to raise a family, in large part due to the excellent school system. In fact, Boca Raton schools rank in the top 10% of Florida public schools, which means that parents can rest assured that their children will receive the best education available. The town also offers a mix of public and private schools, as well as several universities, including Florida Atlantic University and Lynn University.

For an open-air shopping experience, head to Mizner Park, home to over three dozen stores. Things to Do

Boca Raton has five miles of pristine beachfront, giving residents and visitors alike ample opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and soaking up the sunshine. If you’re a fan of snorkeling or fishing, head over to Red Reef Beach, a 67-acre oceanfront park with a nature center and plenty of swimming spots. Immerse yourself in nature at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, a 20-acre coastal preserve that you don’t want to miss. Admire the butterfly garden, visit the sea turtle sanctuary, or enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk trails.
 
Art lovers can look forward to exploring the Boca Raton Museum of Art, which has been a staple of the community since its first opening seventy years ago. The museum features modern and contemporary American and European collections, as well as a thoughtfully-designed sculpture garden.
