Welcome to Delray
An inside look into Florida’s Village by the Sea.
The city of Delray is located in Southeastern Palm Beach County and is home to just over 68,000 individuals. Situated between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, Delray is an intimate beach town with a big heart. The town is on both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway that separates the Atlantic Ocean barrier island from the mainland.
Known for its ample historic charm, the history of the town stretches back to its origins in 1841. In 1896, the Florida East Coast Railway Settlers built train tracks, bringing more residents to the area. This also helped established farms to grow crops, including fruits and vegetables, to be sent north on the railroad. The town has continued to grow and flourish, with many of the neighborhoods today being designated as historic districts.
