Woburn is a working-class suburb, well located where I-93 and I-95 (Route 128) intersect north of the city. Because of its excellent location just 15 minutes north of Boston and highway apex, Woburn has experienced a commercial boom somewhat similar to its more upscale neighbor, Burlington just a few miles away. Full of big box stores and strip malls, Woburn has also seen an influx of decent chain restaurants making it a very reasonable choice for many. Beware though that the ramp designs for I-95 cutting through this town are a disastrous example of poor planning. The I-93 cloverleaf is a horrendous bottleneck at rush hour, and getting off at Washington Street can involve a ten minute wait of lights and crossovers, just to get to the other side of the highway where the stores lie. But if you avoid Woburn during peak hours, you will get a lot done. Restaurant tip: Beacon Grill, Joe's American Grill.
