Woburn is a working-class suburb, well located where I-93 and I-95 (Route 128) intersect north of the city. Because of its excellent location just 15 minutes north of Boston and highway apex, Woburn has experienced a commercial boom somewhat similar to its more upscale neighbor, Burlington just a few miles away. Full of big box stores and strip malls, Woburn has also seen an influx of decent chain restaurants making it a very reasonable choice for many. Woburn center has an array of shops and stores with many diverse dining options. Woburn is also a popular choice for empty nesters and those looking for a lower tax basis, than some neighboring communities, such as Winchester.
